The Center promotes excellence in research as well as in teaching and learning in the inter/multi/ transdisciplinary field of European Studies. Serving as a focal point of competence and knowledge on subjects pertaining to Europe, broadly defined, CEUTTSS aims at bringing together intra-university experts to create links between the various disciplines and resources in European and Transatlantic Studies and forming connections with academic institutions both in Europe and the United States. CEUTTSS also pursues outreach and engagement activities aiming to foster a dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers, in particular with the goal of enhancing the EU’s relations with the United States. In addition, CEUTTSS seeks to play a key role in reaching out to students and educators associated with secondary education, students of continuing and professional education, lifelong learning, the organized civil society, and the general public at large.
