Jaagoron
www.awakenbangladesh.orgJaagoron is a transformational movement fueled by the power of the human heart. Its members have often overcome extraordinary life challenges en route to making a profound impact in their respective societal surroundings. They actively combat the prevalent poverties of the soul and of the pocket, challenging an era that increasingly glorifies barbarically asymmetric privileges to the commoditizing dehumanization of the common individual. An impromptu trip from the United States to the lush green, culturally rich, fertile land of Bangladesh in 2005 served as the staging ground for Jaagoron’s eventual conception by its founder. His interactions particularly with the people of the village Dardaria, Kapasia catalyzed within him a life-altering, transformative experience; an awakening. His newfound sense of faith after a subsequent, year-long spiritual quest led him to discard his previous life of disillusioned cynicism and apathy for a life of inspiration, gratitude, love, worship, and service. Guided by the divinely inspired spiritual precepts in the Quran, as exemplified by Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, Abraham, Noah (Peace Be Upon Them All) and the other great Prophets of the Creator sent to humankind, Jaagoron continually seeks to translate timeless spiritual gems into workable social remedies in an effort to uphold and restore human dignity wherever it is under assault. Jaagoron’s membership includes individuals of all colors, creeds, and backgrounds. This includes the religiously unaffiliated, the Hindu, the Muslim, the rural farmer, and the urban business man. In formulating its policies and plans of action Jaagoron always seeks common ground, always with the goal of uplifting and empowering the common individual. During its almost decade and a half long run, Jaagoron has become a family for powerfully spirited people from Bangladesh and other parts of the world. It has provided an outlet for the youth and elderly alike for civic engagement and spiritual nourishment.
