iMPACT DOC - originating from the online platform and project agency iMPACT JOURNEY - is a physical platform, exhibition space and non-profit foundation for documentary photography and film, with a focus on addressing global issues and solutions. Inside and outside of the exhibition space, special attention will be paid to transmedia art projects, innovative and visual storytelling, impact measurement, experimentation, (interdisciplinary) education, dialogue and interaction. iMPACT DOC moves on the borderline between art, constructive journalism and (social) sciences. iMPACT DOC came into being by the proven need for a physical place to show, spread and discuss these stories, for both the different (new) visual makers themselves, and for the audience. iMPACT JOURNEY will stay active as a project bureau, of which the output will be (partially) shown at iMPACT DOC. Apart from this content, projects will be shown in collaboration with other visual makers, research institutes, documentary photography agencies, in-depth educative programs and NGOs, both here and in the global South. iMPACT DOC aims to use art - in the form of qualitative documentary photography and film - as a means to achieve certain social aims, with a strong focus on creating impact by enhancing general awareness about the aforementioned issues and by activating people to make more honest and sustainable choices. We would like to make people contemplate about their own place in the world and their own identity, by drawing parallels between ‘there’ and ‘here’.
