Thunderbolt Broadcasting Company began in 1957 when WCMT-AM 1410 began broadcasting in Weakley County. The Company has grown significantly with the addition of WCMT-FM 101.3 in 1968 and WCDZ-FM 95.1 in 1994 along with the acquisition of KYTN-FM 104.9 and WQAK-FM 105.7 in 2007. In present day, Thunderbolt Broadcasting Company continues to serve the Ken-Tenn area with a highly qualified staff who are passionate about being the best at what they do. In addition to its community involvement and public service programs, Thunderbolt stations continue to serve as training grounds for UT Martin students through internships and college work opportunities.
