Nationwide Mutual Healthcare (Nationwide) is a private mutual health insurance company established by the Society of Private Medical and Dental Practitioners (SPMDP). Nationwide is essentially a mutual fund into which the contributions of all members are paid, that is utilized to provide health care services to members who so require. Consequently, the cost of health care services for members who so require is spread over the entire membership. Nationwide is an autonomous not-for-profit organization based on solidarity between its members and is democratically accountable to them. Mission: To efficiently collect and pool its members’ contributions, and to provide quality health care to its members through a dependable network of motivated and committed health care service providers at the best possible value.
