We see our Hospital as the heart of northern healthcare, and the work of our Foundation and support of our community is the crucial vessel responsible for ensuring that heart continues to beat mightily strong. Nothing is more important than local healthcare and we are sure you agree. The Victoria Hospital Foundation was established in 1985 as a registered charity. Our office, which is located on the main floor of the Victoria Regional Hospital, has 3 full time employees. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors and are separate and distinct from the Provincial Health Authority. Each year, our Foundation purchases nearly 1 million dollars of equipment and technology. This figure is double the amount of capital funding our hospital receives from the provincial government each year. As a result, donors have helped us upgrade almost every area of our hospital including palliative care, therapies, pediatrics, surgery, long term care, intensive care, pharmacy, mental health and diagnostics.
