It was in 1988 that Rajab Choukair created the shoe label Melvin & Hamilton. In this period, young men were just discovering the art of the business look and started wearing classic shoes, even in their leisure time. The shoes he created were soon meant to become classics. Based on the traditional British shoemakers handcraft of “Blake” stitched shoes, then pledged for the highest demands of exceptional quality, he added a distinctive character to make each model feel younger and innovative. During the 90s a women’s collection was created and accessories were added. Melvin & Hamilton was born. For Melvin & Hamilton, making shoes is much more than manufacturing products. We source the highest quality leather, use vegetable tanning and produce every shoe by hand in up to 250 single steps. You can literally feel the passion and love for details, for design and fashion. In early 2000 nearly 400 retailer carried our brand and contributed to make Melvin & Hamilton a respected brand across Europe. The distinction as best brand was rewarded to Melvin & Hamilton by Germany’s Schuhkurier in 2018. Pace was really picking up in 2012 after a few years of successful distribution via multi-brand online-shops, like Zalando and Sarenza. We opend our own online boutique to serve the clientele directly, be the face of Melvin & Hamilton in the amazing world of e-commerce. A dedicated organisation with a start-up attitude was built around multinational and interdisciplinary online specialists to provide a unique customer experience. Today, this team doesn’t cease to grow as it is managing the proprietary online shop and other online distribution channels. The team makes independent quick decisions and is always looking for the latest innovations in the field of e-commerce.
