Unlike traditional academic research centers, the Institute for Justice Research and Development (IJRD) at FSU prioritizes the rapid dissemination of research findings to advocates, professionals, and policymakers who can adopt them. Because it is clear that the problems in criminal justice cannot be solved solely from within - this has been tried for decades with little progress – IJRD uses an approach anchored in Trans-sector Innovation that brings various disciplines together to respond to the increasingly connected and complex challenges facing our communities.
