Kip Averitt, as former Texas Senate Natural Resources Chair, has developed working relationships with key members and staff in the Natural Resources Committees, Intergovernmental Relations Committees (where municipal utility districts are formed), Texas Water Development Board, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Public Utility Commission, and other governmental bodies. The Averitt & Associates team also carries out the Goldwater Project, which tracks, quantifies, and projects water conservation savings achieved by utilities throughout Texas’ regions under the State Water Plan. In this capacity, our team regularly develops plans for future water use with cities, municipal water districts, water control and improvement districts, water authorities, engineering firms, and the regional planning groups. Few initiatives require such statewide relationships and knowledge of how all these stakeholders interact and reach consensus to plan for future water systems.
