The objective of the project is the changing of the values in the society, increasing the social cohesion of people, encouraging mutual trust and developing the community feeling. Our objective is through the Bank of Happiness (Õnnepank in Estonian language) make a million good deeds during one year – i.e. million small problems should be solved and million people should therefore get to know each other through positive experience. For the good deeds that are made through the Bank of Happiness the Thanknotes are given, out of which we plan to create alternative community money in Estonia. Thanknotes are not emitted, but they are created with the making of a good deed. The Thanknotes as an exchangeable unit received while making a good deed should be able to change attitude towards money. We would like to turn the focus of the society to the status of happiness. The added value of the project is the increasing of the ethical values of the citizen community and collecting the personal imago capital and showing of caring as in the eyes of the society as well as in the own community. The existence of the Thanknotes behind the name of a person could be an important factor in the future for the employer, community, politicians, schools, etc. The owning of the Thanknotes means – I care and help according to my abilities and possibilities. We plan to collect as many enterprises and organizations as possible – starting from churches and finishing with big profit earning enterprises. We are sure that the first office of the International Bank of Happiness can be in Estonia. The Bank of Happiness wants to be an initiator of a new model of society and dears to take the role of the „good will“ and speaker of the human values in the society and plans to fulfil this role according to a plan and systematically. Estonia will be more noticed also in the rest of the world, if the International Bank of Happiness could be initiated here.
