Our Purpose Who: The Richmond Paralegal Association (“RPA”) is a non-profit corporation organized December 8, 1982, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. What: RPA's mission is to foster professionalism, continuing legal education, public service and networking for paralegals in Central Virginia. Where: RPA members are from metropolitan Richmond and surrounding counties. RPA members benefit from network opportunities, continuing education programs, an employment job bank, On The Record quarterly newsletter, affiliation with the National Association of Legal Assistants (“NALA”) and the Virginia Alliance of Paralegal Associations (“VAPA”), and much more. RPA encourages all members to take an active role in their profession by volunteering in the community through Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society. Through participation in these programs, members find opportunities to network with local attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, and community leaders while gaining invaluable real world experience. RPA supports new paralegal development at many levels, offering student memberships, providing scholarship opportunities for promising candidates, offering a mentor program to help recent paralegal graduates make the transition from school to successful employment as a paralegal, and hosting a CLA/CP study group to assist members in adding credentialing to their profession. For the most up-to-date information on RPA membership, volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and activities and our job bank, please visit each page of our website.
