With a global foundation in well operations covering a very wide range of working environments, he completely reviewed the well integrity process of a major independent oil company and subsequently developed and implemented a world-class well integrity management system. This highly visual system integrated several strategic software packages and provided a wide range of stakeholders with daily and up to date information of well status. This process is fully described in SPE 142449-MS, ‘The Seven Pillars of Well Integrity Management: The Design and Implementation of a Well Integrity Management System’. This was published in 2011 and to date over 670 copies have been downloaded from One Petro making this one of the top paper downloads in the SPE. This process is now employed by several companies worldwide, and is understood to be used by well examiners to provide a review process when assessing the integrity status of some operators. Additionally, Simon is an approved global trainer for SPE on well integrity and is also a guest lecturer at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
