The Centre for Family and Population Research (CFPR) is an interdisciplinary Centre located at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, that advances scientific research and training on family and population changes, particularly in Asia. We aim to bridge basic academic research with public policies that affect the family’s well-being. Our research adopts a multi-disciplinary, life course, and international comparative approach. The Centre aims to stimulate dialogue and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration between students, faculty researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. The goal is to address critical issues and policies related to the family's well-being. We will utilize life course and international perspectives using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods. In the long run, CFPR envisions to achieve the following: -To provide thought leadership in family and population research, particularly in Asia. -To become a regional training centre for family and population research. -To bridge basic academic research with public policies that affect families and children’s well-being. -To collaborate with family and population centres around the world. Our Missions: - Promote cutting edge, empirically-based, and policy-relevant research; - Provide trainings in social science research and practices related to family and population issues; and, - Foster internal and international collaborations for academics and policymakers.
