The Department of Commerce is the largest association of teachers and students in JMC. It was started in 1972 and now is a closely-knit family comprising of faculty of 21 excellent teachers and more than 600 students in the course structures of B.com Hons and B.com Programme. The department emphasizes on practical learning through projects, internships, seminars and workshops at field level by experts drawn from both academia and industry. We have been organising various events since many years: Com'Quest, the annual business quiz which holds participation from more than 400 participants, Com'Acumen, the annual departmental festival which holds a plethora of commerce centric events and entertains a large footfall, as well as national seminars and conventions on different themes. All events are organised with the help of the Commerce Core Team. The team is lead by the office bearers, followed by the heads and subheads. The team currently comprises of 105 enthusiastic girls from all three years from both B.com Hons and B.com Programme.
