Friends of Red Rock Canyon sponsor canyon clean-ups, graffiti removal, trail maintenance, and improvements. We also sponsor CCSD Transportation Grants for student field trips, providing over 20,000 students the chance to hike at Red Rock. We support and participate in community events including National Public Lands Day, Red Rock Day and Trails Day. Our group averages over 25,000 hours of volunteer service annually! We host the annual Red Rock Photo Contest for all ages, design and install the Lost Creek Walkway, our members "staff" the Visitor Center Information Desk providing area education and information to more than 450,000 guests annually. We help maintain and improve the Visitor Center landscaping as well as provide information about native plants and establish a plant propagation center. We take care of the Tortoise Habitat and its maintenance with our volunteers providing information on this threatened species to approximately 50,000 visitors annually. Our Speakers Bureau provides off-site information and education programs about Red Rock Canyon to businesses and civic groups.
