Department of Public Health was established in the year 2013 as a constituent department under K S Hegde Medical Academy. The department is comprised of dynamic public health professionals having diversified experiences with UN agencies like UNICEF, WHO; state and federal health systems and third sector as faculties. Department is offering a two years full time Master of Public Health (MPH) program which provides teaching, research and hands-on experience that prepare students, health science practitioners and researchers to develop and apply public health interventions for their fellow citizens. The program provides students with a strong foundation in epidemiology and bio statistics complimented by research methodology and behavioral sciences. Master of Public Health (MPH) programme with us is an interdisciplinary post-graduate program spread over four semesters including four months field research (dissertation) and two months of internship in a health and development agencies recognized by the university. Master of Public Health (MPH) programme enables students for a dynamic and challenging career opportunities in health and development sectors as public health consultants, epidemiologists, managers, research officers, analysts, or director in government or non-governmental organizations, UN agencies like World Health Organizations, UNICEF, UNDP, FAO etc., pharmaceutical and corporate companies, where over a quarter of million job opportunities are expected over the next decade.
