Latino Memphis
www.latinomemphis.orgWe are the largest Latino-serving nonprofit in the MidSouth, connecting clients with needed services in the areas of health, education and justice. The work of Latino Memphis is a collective approach working with our partners to create a vibrant Latino middle class in Memphis; a concept that will not only impact Latinos but the entire Memphis community. El Centro / 901 Hub The 901 hub provides information and referral services connecting clients with in-house services as well as external agencies allowing us to serve their critical needs in the areas of health care, justice, education, clerical assistance among many other areas. Latino Memphis partners with over 50 local nonprofits, governmental agencies and other local service providers to ensure that these pressing needs are met. Abriendo Puertas / Opening Doors The Abriendo Puertas program works with 11th and 12th grade high school students to ensure they graduate from high school on time, are college ready and enroll in a post-secondary institution—whether it be a technical/vocational school, a community college or a university. Caminos / Mentoring Program Latino Memphis has partnered with the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation to create Caminos, a mentorship program for high school students. Caminos provides a path for students to cultivate their talents and set academic goals through one-to-one mentoring. Derechos / Immigrant Rights Defense Center Derechos is Latino Memphis’ in-house immigration legal practice. We provide accessible legal immigration advice and representation, as well as serve the community by providing information and education on legal issues affecting immigrants. Tu Voz / Advocacy Tu Voz advocates alongside our clients for positive change in Memphis and beyond through policy, advocacy and civic engagement. This program takes input from the Latino community to bridge the gap between what is working and what is not, especially concerning institutional, local, and federal policy.
