Ammann Patent Attorneys Ltd.
www.ammann-patent.chThe firm was founded in 1950 by Mr. Ernst Ammann, Ing. ETH, under the name of Ammann & Co. with one of his main clients as a partner. In 1952, Mr. Ammann had already two collaborators. At that time, the activites of the firm were mainly related to the watch and machine industries. Later, the service also covered the fields of electronics, electro-mechanics, machinery, medicine technique, optical sensors, photovoltaics and chemistry. In 1971, Amman & Co. was transformed into Ammann Patent Attorneys Ltd. Berne with Mr. Ernst Ammann and Mr. Martin Steiner as founders. However, this transformation had no influence on its general policy and activities. After the death of Mr. Ammann in 1974, the firm was directed by Mr. Steiner as president and Mr. Seehof as vice-president. Mr. Seehof has been the manager and president of the board since 1995. Today, in addition to the patent sector, our offer also includes services related to trademarks and designs, licence contracts, and searches, and we give our clients competent advice and support in IP matters. The premises are located at the center of Berne, the capital of Switzerland, and are conveniently reachable by car (parking in the building) and by train (10 minutes walk). Besides, the Institute of Intellectual Property, i.e. the Swiss Patent Office, is situated nearby, so that urgent matters requiring e.g. a receipt may be settled by hand delivery. Berne is situated centrally between the economically important cities of Zurich, Basel, and Geneva, seat of the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO.
