The Bill Skinner Studio is a luxury fashion jewellery company based near Sevenoaks, England. As long as Bill can remember he has been fascinated by craftsmanship, quality, creativity and design. This fascination has endured and remains central to our Company today. Bill studied at Sir John Cass College of art and after graduation began working for a number of companies in London’s famous Hatton Garden area. Here he learnt and discovered a gift for pattern making and soon became known as a craftsman and designer of note, working freelance, for amongst others: Asprey, Garrards and Van Cleef and Arpels. During the 1980s with his work attracting critical acclaim Bill began working with Butler and Wilson and Vivienne Westwood, and so began a long association with the world of fashion jewellery, that continues to this day. Bill’s work grew progressively throughout the 1990s into a thriving business, covering a wide range of jewellery for many of the world’s best known brands and included a number of Royal commissions. Having developed and supplied collections of jewellery for other brands for nearly twenty five years, Bill launched his first ‘Bill Skinner’ range in January 2012. This début collection was a fittingly distinctive and truly stunning first offering, each piece hand carved by him and his UK studio team. In the years that followed the collection received much critical acclaim and has gone from strength to strength and is now sold globally.
