www.chicagosemester.orgChicago Semester is an experience-based academic program that provides real-world opportunities for college students seeking personal and professional growth. Our mission is to provide urban, experiential education from a Christian perspective that equips students for integrated personal, professional, and public lives. The program was founded in 1974 by six colleges in the Reformed Christian tradition. Since that time over 4,500 alumni have participated in the program. Today over 100 students from 27 colleges participate in the Chicago Semester program each year. Students in the program experience first-hand what it is like to live in the global city of Chicago. Students participate in vibrant arts and cultural activities, explore diverse neighborhoods, and master the public transportation system. Students learn alongside esteemed faculty who teach using the city as a laboratory. Through this learning students explore complex city issues and reflect on one’s collective responsibility to society. Lastly, for students work with professional mentors at some of Chicago’s leading companies and organizations; building networking relationships and future career connections.
