Like most parents, Mike and Laura Fossen began working with students through their own children. After trying education through a private school, they developed a desire to have a greater input on their children’s education. Their homeschooling adventure began six years ago. Laura not only teaches many of their children’s subjects, but she also has taught a class each year in the homeschool co-op. This year she is teaching government and economics to high school students. Mike and Laura believe impacting students is not limited to a classroom setting and they want to be a good example for more students. They have worked with students by coaching basketball and football teams, volunteering in sports organizations, and Mike officiating football and basketball games. A desire to impact youth and to continue learning propels them to aid students in their education. Having worked in the corporate world for three decades, Mike anticipates focusing on helping students full-time in the near future. Laura has a BBA in Accounting from Baylor University and has been a CPA in Texas for 25 years. Mike has a BA from Arizona State University and an MBA from Washington University in St Louis, MO. Laura had experience tutoring students after graduating from college while Mike had experience tutoring student while in college.
