We offer all new enquiries an initial free consultation, and provide details on options available and fixed fees to pursue claims. Debt recovery has a few negative connotations, with people associating it with harassing for payment and ‘sending the boys round’. In addition there are those that undertake the work on a ‘no win no fee’ basis, or purchase debts to pursue. These are not what Mercian Law offers, we are a fully regulated solicitors practice, which requires us to hold £3 million in professional indemnity cover, and have our accounts audited annually by accountants for the Solicitors Regulation Authority. By instructing Mercian Law you have the peace of mind that your case is being handled by a professional but not at the usual fees associated with instructing a solicitor. Because Mercian Law Limited doesn’t have offices open to the public, our overheads are a lot lower, which means that our clients are offered our services on a fixed fee basis, unless the claim is defended and we charge on a reasonable hourly rate.
