Climendo is the first online weather comparison platform. In the apps and on the website users can view and compare five of the most accurate forecasts for their area side by side. Although Climendo does not make a forecast of its own in a traditional sense, users are presented with a statistical forecast, the most likely outcome. It is based on accuracy trends from the various weather forecasts that are participating in the Climendo service. The company was founded in 2012 by brothers and surfers Jacob and David von Corswant in Stockholm, Sweden. It first started out as a side project in order to score better waves. The focus has later shifted as the owners gained awareness of the importance of accurate weather forecasts for the environment. Climendo was ranked as one of the hottest startups in Sweden by acclaimed idg.se. David and Jacob has done several TV appearances, including Sky News’ tech show Swipe to talk about their innovative way to tackle weather forecasting. The app is regularly featured in international media such as Daily Mail, Popular Science, Macworld, Engadget, Metro, and The Next Web.
