LoCo Motion Pictures is an independent production company based in Toronto, Ontario. We produce audience-driven content for all platforms with a focus on top quality scripted digital storytelling. We take a non-traditional approach to content creation, pushing boundaries and telling stories to underserved audiences by fostering creators with unique and innovative points of view. Founded in 2014, LoCo Motion Pictures is headed by producer and entertainment lawyer, Lauren Corber. Lauren is an alumnus of the Canadian Film Centre's Cineplex Entertainment Producers’ Lab, the NSI’s Totally Television Program, the WIFT-T Development Incubator, the Bell Media Executive Producer Accelerator Lab and the Banff Spark Accelerator. One of Canada’s leading digital content producers, LoCo Motion Pictures' most recent series, How to Buy a Baby, has been nominated for an International Emmy and named a top web series to watch by the Globe and Mail and Now Magazine. It premiered on CBC in November, 2017 and has won Best Comedy at the Indie Series Awards, and has been invited to screen at festivals in Canada, the US and Europe. LoCo has also produced two seasons of the CSA award-winning CBC comedy, My 90-Year-Old Roommate starring Paul Soles (Spider-Man) that has over 1 million views. LoCo’s latest production, KidScreen Award winner and Canadian Screen Award-nominated tween series, Detention Adventure is in post production on its second season. Up next is digital comedy series, The Communist’s Daughter which won the Just for Laugh’s ComedyPro Stand Up ‘N Pitch competition in 2018, bringing home the hattrick as LoCo’s third win in as many years.
