In 2013, the former South Georgia College and former Waycross College merged to create what is now SGSC. Beautiful historic location in Southeast Georgia. The tree-lined Douglas campus features 190 landscaped acres and includes a blend of well-maintained classroom and residential space with open green areas suitable for student gatherings. The Waycross campus features 150 acres of wooded land and includes three academic buildings, two lakes, and a walking trail. Both campuses have facilities which are home to the SGSC Hawks athletic teams. The intercollegiate athletics program has a rich heritage in both Douglas and Waycross, drawing athletes from throughout Georgia as well as other states and countries. The athletic program includes baseball, softball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s basketball (Waycross campus).
