www.eiqsh.euInspired by the inner perception of ‘caring’ for the healthcare services and those that benefit from the healthcare system, the founders established Euro-Mediterranean Institute for Quality and Safety in Health Services (EIQSH), Avedis Donabedian. It is an independent non-profit civil enterprise, the founding members of which are scientists, healthcare professionals (HCP) and executives with years of experience in the field of quality assurance and quality management in patient-centered healthcare services. Based at the ‘heart’ of the Mediterranean, the EIQSH members’ hope and vision, is to become a center of knowledge with the aim to improving the level of safety and quality assurance in the healthcare sector, both on individual and collective / national level. For EIQSH, quality in healthcare services, is to provide the best and most appropriate available care to the patient, ensuring optimum results (ie care services that meet the individual patient’s psychological and physiological needs, delivered at the right time, in an appropriate manner, according to the already established scientific, evidence-based care standards. The EIQSH provides training opportunities and professional continuous development options to healthcare professionals, by collaborating, interacting with, and being inspired by, the Institute’s associates from around the world. Certified corporate educational programs (theoretical and practical training) aim to continuous education, specialization and advanced knowledge upgrade of HCPs and are either implemented asynchronously in technologically advanced and user-friendly platforms, or in selected and approved educational premises. These programs focus on all levels and specialties of healthcare professionals, providing up-to-date specialized knowledge, by promoting skills and providing enablers, driven by evidence-based international best practices.
