FullDawa means creating chaos, or disrupting the status quo. We do this by amplifying unique voices. Originally created in Paris, France in 2007 and expanded to Los Angeles in 2015. Over the years we have provided a platform for a range of artists, from established to first-time directors, resulting in several fiction films, documentaries, and more than 80 multi-award-winning short films. In recent years, FullDawa Films has been present at major festivals; Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca and the Oscars, where Rise of a Star was shortlisted in 2018. FullDawa Films premiered Heavy at the 45th Deauville Film Festival, directed by Jouri Smit, starring Daniel Zovatto and Sophie Turner. They co-produced Uncorked with Mandalay pictures, directed by Prentice Penny for Netflix, My Old Lady by Israël Horowitz starring Kevin Kline, Maggie Smith and Kristine Scott Thomas; and Frank & Lola by Matthew Ross with Michael Shannon & Imogen Poots which premiered at Sundance in 2016. FullDawa Films produced several documentaries, notably a 90-minutes documentary about and titled The tragic destiny of The Romanov, broadcasted on Arte, An Opera for an Empire also for Arte and Wandering Stars, a documentary by French superstar rapper Nekfeu, produced with Mars Films, released in theaters by Pathé Live and broadcasted worldwide on Netflix. This film became the highest ever box office documentary with a one day release in France and the third most viewed doc on the streaming platform.
