What is Kumuola? Translated to mean - The Giving Tree Established January 2021. Kumuola is a pilot program focused on cultivating Mitragyna Speciosa in Hawaii. The projects misson is to develop the Kumuola Laulima & Preclincial Researh programs. What is Mitragyna Speciosa? Also know as MIT, it is a tree from the Rubicae family. It grows primarily in the South Pacific. The plants compounds have been used for medicinal purposes to treat pain, anxiety, and as a step down for substance abuse. Why is the Kumuola Project significant? The Kumuola Project's programs will provide jobs, education, and path to financial independence for Native Hawaiians. The program also provides economic relief and alternative natural health and wellness benefits for the community. MIT Research Kumuola's Research Program proposal is led by some of the scientific communities most well respected pharmacologist. The project is currently raising $1.5 million for the Kumuola pre-clinical research program. The first phase of research is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021. Kumuola Hui The Kumuola Hui is a group of highly respected individuals in their community that actively participate in the program by volunteering resources and expertise at the executive level. Passive Kumuola Hui members participate by making financial contributions towards critical segments of the program. Friends of the Kumuola Hui Friends of the Kumuola Hui is made of all the people that embody the spirit of Aloha in Hawaii and participate actively by volunteering their time, spreading the message or by making private donations to the program.
