Galeria Millan
www.millan.artFounded in 1986, Galeria Millan has been working with artists whose timeless practices cover, above all, transcendental aspects in the spatial, contextual and linguistic spheres, having contributed to the preservation of the historical memory of production in harmony with contemporaneity. Since its formation, the gallery has recognized the importance of dialogues between the production of modern artists and their contribution to the formation of the new generation. Throughout its more than thirty years of activity, Galeria Millan has established itself as a national reference for fostering the power of each artist, positioning them within the international market and supporting their participation in important collective exhibitions, including the Documenta de Kassel and the Venice Biennale and individual exhibitions at major institutions such as the Louvre, Palais de Tokyo, Jeu de Paume, Museo Tamayo, Museo Reina Sofia and Tate Modern. Currently, its programming is aimed at integrating these practices from the production of international and national artists as well as their contextualization and consolidation in different scenarios inside and outside Brazil. The gallery works with artists in active production, including Artur Barrio, Ana Prata, Elena Damiani, Henrique Oliveira, José Damasceno, Miguel Rio Branco, Paulo Pasta, Peter Halley and Thiago Martins de Melo, as well as consolidated estates such as Feliciano Centurión and Tunga. It is currently directed by André Millan, Socorro de Andrade Lima, Hena Lee, João Marcelo Andrade and Ilan Karpio and comprises two exhibition spaces located at Rua Fradique Coutinho, in São Paulo: the Galeria and the Anexo Millan.
