Foundation actively supporting sustainable projects in East Africa including schools, educational centers, water projects and income generating projects. The major project of the Florentina Foundation (2005) is the Elisabeth Center, a place for open education and small scale (microfinanced) development projects. The center was founded by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Charles Borromeo (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liefdezusters_van_de_Heilige_Carolus_Borromeus) in 2005 to serve the villages around Kilimanjaro International Airport. The center has grown from a one-room red brick building to a full service nursery and primary school with extensive facilities. The center, located in Northern Tanzania between Arusha and Moshi, has a reach of about 5 kilometers radius around the center.
