Fearless projects presents the iconic yacht Telefonica Black. She is a 70ft race yacht that competed in the 2008 Volvo Ocean Race. She is the only Volvo 70 based in the UK and we provide a range of experiences, events and racing for all. We started the business in 2019 and had a fantastic 1st year. We won trophies, got amazing feedback and had a lot of fun along the way. After a summer based on the South Coast of England, we sailed through Europe to Malta and then over the Atlantic to the Caribbean before returning to our home in Gosport. The people behind the project are Lance and Claire, supported by a great team of professional sailors. Lance comes from an outstanding sailing background. He started sailing in the scouts, joined the Marines, worked on the Lytham lifeboats and then moved to the Solent teaching for Sunsail and UKSA. In 2017/18 he skippered the Clipper Round the World Race on the Liverpool boat, circumnavigating the world with a team of amateur sailors. Lance's mantra is to get everyone involved in all aspects of sailing the yacht and that big boat sailing is not just for the professionals. Claire grew up sailing on the west coast of Scotland, throughout her career she has specialised in events and hospitality and now can bring her two passions together. The yacht is operated with 4 crew and 12 guests. No experience is required. We are available for private charters, by the berth bookings, team building days and corporate events.
