The National Safety Management Society (NSMS) was founded in 1968 as a nonprofit organization [501(c)(3)]. NSMS is an organization dedicated to educating and providing professional development resources in safety management theory and application to safety and health professionals, as well as to those individuals responsible for integrating safety into operations in order to achieve operational excellence. Our goals: ♣ Promote the advancement of the safety/loss control function through the application of management principles. ♣ Provide educational growth in the philosophy and concepts of the Society relating to the integration of all aspects of safety (error-free performance) into al functions and activities of management. ♣ Conduct or sponsor research projects designed to identify new techniques and methods for improving management activities relative to error-free performance. ♣ Assure broad dissemination and implementation of the Society’s philosophy and concepts for enhancement of the safety management profession. ♣ Provide the resources and training programs to help you prepare, pursue and attain professional certifications at various levels (manager/ISHM-CSHM via the Institute for Safety and Health Management - ISHM, supervisor/NSMS-CSS or technician/NSMS-CST).
