Peoples Portable Power® is a Danish start-up which in 2017 developed a prototype on an innovative energy solution for families living without public electrical supply in for example Africa. We have in 2018 tested our solution in Kenya and Tanzania and are now ready for scaling up. Background Education, health-care and small businesses needs electricity, but in rural Africa, it is difficult and expensive to roll out a public grid. Therefore, many people only have light from un-healthy oil lamps and poor electricity from bad quality solar lanterns or disposable batteries. When discarded this is poisoning the environment, leading to groundwater and crop contamination. Peoples Portable Power® is partnering up with companies installing mini-grids and central solar installations in rural villages by leasing out our small recyclable powerful batteries enabling families to carry electricity home. Peoples Portable Power makes electric power accessible and affordable to people living in rural areas.
