Setting the pattern for Chinese industry, since the 1970’s SBW have entered long-term cooperation and licence agreements with renowned worldwide manufacturers such as Nuovo Pignone, Demag, Borsig and Mitsui, through which they have developed a broad and detailed knowledge of key areas of turbomachinery design and production. SBW have played a key role in the development of the Chinese process industries, being the dominant supplier in key turbomachinery categories including centrifugal and axial-flow compressors, and also reciprocating compressors, as well as single- and multi-stage blowers, fans, and pumps. SBW Group now offers a wide and integrated range of turbomachinery to the oil, gas and process industries, as well as to the chemical industry, the metallurgical sector, and to the power sector. Production now includes vertically-split, horizontally-split and barrel-type multistage compressor designs, with references including those in 10 Million TPA refineries, and in 1.2 Million TPA ethylene plants; axial compressors used in world-scale iron & steel plants; geared compressors and blowers for downstream and utility sector applications; and both power industry pumps for conventional and nuclear applications as well as API610 process pumps. With this wealth of experience behind them, and with major supplies to China’s oil & gas industry, SBW have now taken the logical next step of expanding their worldwide marketing presence, through setting up local support offices for the American, European and Middle East markets to complement their existing offices in South-Asia, India, and Persia.
