Silvermoor Haylage is based in the North East of England, we have been producing haylage since 1992 and in its present form since 2005. At Silvermoor we pride ourselves by producing a first class product. We achieve this through internally controlling every aspect of production. In developing our products over the years we have used experts in their fields such as Peter Schofield of ‘Oliver Seeds’ for growing advice and Lesley Barwise-Munroe for feeding advice. We listen and accommodate our customers needs, customer feedback is very important to us. In 2018 Silvermoor started producing Swingers which are a stable boredom breaker for horses. The unique swinging design means the horse has to work to be able to eat it meaning it cannot be eaten quickly and will take longer to eat than similarly sized traditional blocks of forage. Eating regularly promotes saliva production which buffers stomach acids and helps prevent against gastric ulcers. Silvermoor Swingers are low in sugar and low in starch. They provide a healthy addition to be used to compliment the horses’ diet and can help manage weight. They are safe to use for laminitics and good doers as well as insulin resistant horses and those suffering from EMS. Also in 2018 Silvermoor started producing Silvermoor Treatsies which are the perfect titbit for the horse and pony.
