Tu mai rā Tararua me Ruahine nga pae maunga o te rohe nei, tukua ko te awa e rere mai nei Ko Manawatū. Our mountains connected to the river of Manawatū are some of the defining symbols of our region. Representing solidarity and strength, but also the flow of energy to inspire our communities to be active for life. Energy in this context represents ‘our teamwork’ and that it can take on several different forms for Sport Manawatū to realise opportunities and face the challenges of health and well-being for our communities. A symbolic representation of an active mind, body and spirit reinforcing and embracing our key message, ‘everyone active – kia mātātoa tātou.’ The niho taniwha design on the Atamira/Platform symbolises persistence, strength, determination, purpose, and drive, which our team aspires to bring to the work we do in the communities we serve. Each niho taniwha notch represents our connection and relationship with Tararua, Manawatū, Palmerston North City, and Horowhenua.
