Phelps Family Medicine Residency Program is an innovative, forward-thinking three-year program and the first family medicine residency founded in New York State since 1995. The program consists of a partnership between Phelps Hospital, Northwell Health, Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and Open Door Family Medical Centers, which work collaboratively to provide a rigorous training program for eight residents each year. The program is university-affiliated, unopposed, community-based and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
