The second International Film Festival of Ottawa makes the leap from your computer screens into cinemas! After a cancelled inaugural Festival in 2020 and our first edition online in 2021, we are excited to bring IFFO to audiences with cinema screenings and talks in downtown Ottawa. Showcasing 27 of this year’s best feature films, plus 27 new Canadian short films, special programs, and filmmaker talks, IFFO brings international festival films to Ottawa cinephiles. At this year’s Screen Summit, IFFO introduces the Ottawa film industry to producers and filmmakers from across Canada and the globe! Get ready to experience a new kind of film festival, from your trusted friends at the Canadian Film Institute, in Ottawa, March 9 - 20, 2022. IFFO was founded by the Canadian Film Institute in response to the City’s growing production industry. With the City of Ottawa building its first soundstage campus (movie studios) and Algonquin College introducing a film production program to its roster, there is a burgeoning industry that will be supported by this dynamic new film festival. A key industry event is the IFFO Screen Summit, which brings together professionals in the live-action production community for an exchange of information and expertise. Screen Summit is designed for a specialized audience in screen-based content creation, development, production, post-production and distribution.
