The Foundation for Haiti Zero Charcoal 2020 is dedicated to reducing to zero the use of charcoal and wood as fuel for home cooking in Haiti. The majority of the population currently uses wood and charcoal which has resulted in drastic and continuing deforestation of the country and health concerns due to indoor air pollution. The immediate goal is to provide the distribution of kerosene cookstoves free of charge to families throughout Haiti. The second goal will focus on re-forestation efforts in Haiti.
