www.d54foundation.orgThe Schaumburg Township Elementary School Foundation, (aka D54 Education Foundation) was incorporated in 1987 to generate and distribute financial and other resources to the School District 54 community for enrichment programs and other projects aimed at enhancing the quality of education and providing students with extended learning opportunities. The Foundation is a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization, chartered by the State of Illinois. The Foundation raises funds to support programs not fully funded by school budgets or tax dollars. Funds raised help to provide the following. ► Breakfast programs at all District 54 schools to ensure that students begin their day ready to learn - we are committed to raising $280,000 annually for this program. ►The Crisis Fund helps families meet the basic needs of students so that they can come to school ready to learn. Donations are used to purchase groceries, gas and other essential items for families experiencing financial hardships or troubled situations. ►Funding after-school STEM programs so that all students have the opportunity to become innovators, practice collaboration and be prepared for the exciting opportunities in their futures. ►Scholarships to students from low-income households to participate in extracurricular activities, so that they have the same opportunities as all children. The board of trustees meets on a quarterly bases to plan fundraising opportunities, award grants and develop growth strategies to expand the mission of the Foundation.
