Project Por Amor
www.projectporamor.comProject Por Amor is an artist-run production and travel company who organizes performances, exhibitions, film shoots, conferences, exchanges, and cultural travel abroad. We specialize in Cuba and have experience in Iceland, Los Angeles, Tijuana, Spain, and Colombia. Through more than ten years we have become experts in working closely with U.S. arts organizations, universities, entertainment companies, and individuals to create customized and seamless experiences that build meaningful international relationships with artists, professionals, organizations, audiences, and thought leaders. We’ve produced performance tours and delegations to Cuba include Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the Chicago Children’s Choir, Oberlin College, Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College, California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Lewis & Clark College, Theatre Communications Group, the American Composers Forum, Cascadia Composers, Zenon Dance Company, Gold Entertainment, Charles Fox Music, and Tectonic Theater Project. Throughout the year we also offer or our own program of specialized people-to-people and professional research delegations that focus on architecture, contemporary art, music, neon signs, folklore & ecology, plein air painting, and dance. They are open to all individuals with professional experience or a strong interest in these topics and countries. We were born out of two original groundbreaking multi-media performances devised during the Bush Administration that used technology to overcome barriers of collaboration between artists in the U.S. and Cuba during a time when cultural exchange between the two countries was prohibited. They received critical acclaim from journalists across the US, Cuba, and Europe and were presented internationally at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, Havana Film Festival, Center Theatre Group, Santa Monica Broad Stage, Miami Light Project, MALDEF, Inner-City Arts, and TheatreForum Magazine.
