Basic Conception - or BiCi for short - is a smart bicycle with inbuilt sensors that track your cycling stats, guide you along your route, offer powerful anti-theft protection and keep you safe. As the first smart bike built by AOAO Studio, BiCi is a product of our belief that good design embodies the needs of its time. Have you ever thought of what a modern bike means to you? We believe that it is far from a simple vehicle or a tool for competitive cyclists. BiCi collects data on your cycling habits and routes, preserving the memory and metrics of your rides. BiCi started form an idea and a few sketches. From there, 3D printing and thorough component sourcing helped us create the first rideable model. But completing a great prototype wasn't the end goal for us - we wanted to make sure BiCi was truly representative of the modern cyclist's ideal for a bike. To figure this out, we launched the Qizi Program in August this year. Named after a popular mountain destination in Tibet, we enlisted early adopters and avid cyclists to join us on a 4-month journey of the program, including cycling trips, discussion sessions, design workshops and the odd bicycle-themed movie night, etc. We collected loads of constructive feedback and ideas to improve BiCi, and also made lots of new friends who shared the same value with us.
