HCAS applies the two core concepts of the Dalton Plan, freedom, and cooperation, to develop the Whole Person. This school also operates on a House system that fosters collaboration and team spirit. Houses are based on the four Gods of Chinese mythology: White Tigers, Black Turtle, Red Phoenix, Green Dragon. HCAS learning outcomes focus on what we call the 7 C’s: Contribution, Communication, Community, Compassion, Critical thinking, Collaboration, Creativity. These core concepts guide all leadership decisions in the school. Our goal is to create 21st century learners who can dig deeply into ideas, debate from multiple perspectives, and use evidence and data to support their arguments. HCAS graduates are prepared for the technology and fast pace of the 21st century but also focus on the relationships and community that tie humanity together. Our students work to achieve personal goals while also contributing to bettering the community and humanity as a whole. We are proud to say that our students go on to study at the finest educational institutions in the world after they leave HCAS.
