STONES & STORIES is a series of exhibitions that will bring out the hidden heritage temples of India to the limelight. To understand the significance of this project, one has to start from the roots. We don’t understand the importance of our roots; instead embrace only the fruits of modernity. It’s time we understand the significance of it and experience the marvels around us. Nothing is as real as the past. On a fortunate note, we are in a country with a heritage that is as rich as its age and a history that is greatly significant in every page. When it comes to culture, the evolution has been phenomenal and continuous through the centuries. Today, we stand as a nation of many nations put together, with every state ingrained to its own nativity. Of many things that stand testimonial to the time that we have come through, TEMPLES have a big say. Art, architecture, religion, spirituality, prosperity and more: Temples talk a lot more than the Gods who reside in the raised walls. When we enter such ancient temples, the very thought of the civilizations that’d have flourished around seamlessly in these spaces ages ago, is astounding. There is so much to look on the outside and inside, equally. But the problem with us is we don’t really realize the amount of heritage we possess right around us, but instead, look forward to the western nations for inspiration or at the least off the boundaries of our states to visit such places.
