OFRI

OFRI is an independent initiative for monitoring and analyzing international relations under a feminist lens. Our lines of action range from research centered on the individual performance of women in international politics, through the theoretical feminist debate in International Relations to analyzes of national and regional circumstances. To facilitate this process, we made a pragmatic division of regions: Latin America and the Caribbean; USA, Canada, Western Europe and Oceania; Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia; Asia; Middle East and North Africa; and Sub-Saharan Africa. We understand the limitations of this division, just as we understand OFRI itself as a space of constant learning and transformation in our research. OFRI appears in the context of a global health crisis; increasing inequalities; and social crisis, political and economic in Brazil. We are not detached from this conjuncture, on the contrary: it crosses all our efforts, and we have as central understanding that crises like this have much more perverse effects on women, blacks, native peoples, LGBTQ + people, and so many other bodies not corresponding to the ideals of masculinity hegemonic; in the same way with respect to political north-south relations. Thus, we place ourselves as a group of researchers (and researchers) committed to quality scientific production and dissemination, valuing the role of a critical science and committed to social, political and economic transformation. and we have as a central understanding that crises like this have much more perverse effects on women, blacks, indigenous peoples, LGBTQ + people, and so many other bodies that do not correspond to the ideals of hegemonic masculinity; in the same way with respect to political north-south relations.
