DiveTherapy Inc.
www.vetdivetherapy.comMy name is James Maxwell. I am a Marine Corps Veteran, Licensed Captain and a PADI Scuba Instructor. I founded DiveTherapy as a way to give back to the veteran community the best way I know how; through scuba diving. As a Marine Corps Veteran and PADI scuba instructor, I know first hand how diving can help veterans who are dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, physical pain or many more problems. Once you are underwater, all of your problems melt away. Taking part in the serenity of the ocean can make a world of difference in the life of a struggling veteran. DiveTherapy is dedicated to ending veteran suicide. We are doing that by providing a FREE scuba diving certification! At absolutely ZERO cost to the veteran themselves, they will be able to earn an incredibly therapeutic tool that will last them for the rest of their lives! The average cost of private scuba instruction is around $500. Through DiveTherapy, it is free. Each person sponsored through our program not only will earn this certification, they will join a network of people, veteran and civilian, who share a love of diving that extends worldwide. A under-ocean bond that only scuba divers can experience. A greater sense of community they may feel they have lost. That sense of community and friendship is vital to many veterans, myself included, and the scuba diving community is a very positive community to be a part of. DiveTherapy’s mission is funded solely through the DiveTherapy shop. Our "Ol' Glory" bracelet is what started it all and I make each one by hand. We are constantly working to bring new products to our shop to help raise money to support the mission. 100% of the proceeds from each sale goes directly to the DiveTherapy mission. They are 100% made in America. DiveTherapy is 100% Veteran owned and operated.
