Westford Community Access Television

www.westfordcat.org

WestfordCAT is a non-profit corporation charged with managing the PEG access channels for the town of Westford, Massachusetts. WestfordCAT provides training, equipment, a playback system and a website to help residents create, share, and distribute their finished video programs on local television and over the internet. The government channel provides gavel to gavel coverage for Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Finance Committee, Planning Board, Conservation Commission, and other specially scheduled meetings. Programs are viewed on Comcast channels 8, 9, and 99 and Verizon channels 33, 34, and 35. All three channels can also be viewed online from www.westfordcat.org, which also hosts a large video on demand library and links to WestfordCAT's YouTube channel. At WestfordCAT, we're more than just television. We keep the "local" in the programs our viewers watch. We see ourselves as community journalists, because most of our programming comes from people that live and work in our community. We're similar to our local library, except we lend out camera equipment. We have a variety of cameras, microphones and light kits that members can reserve and check out. Members can also reserve studio time and even take advantage of our state-of-the-art green screen technology. And we offer training classes and professional assistance to help members complete their DIY video programs. Our goal is to offer the best training and services so that more people will create programs and share them with their community. Call or stop by for a tour and become a member today!
