Ruskin has a firm place in St Helens' history. Created by the Pilkington family, the grounds were exclusively for the benefit for Pilkington employees. Since 2011, the facilities have been open to the public and the private purchase of the hospitality facilities means that fitness club, bar and restaurant are services enjoyed by residents and visitors to the sport facilities. Ruskin is home to Ruskin Fitness Club, Sticky Wicket Bar & Grub as well as a private hire venue, business centre and commercial spaces.
