Mission: To support nursing education and promote the nursing profession. The Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association (FNSNA) was created in 1969 and honors Frances Tompkins, the first executive director of the National Student Nurses' Association. Organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, the Foundation awards scholarships to qualified nursing students annually. To date, $5 million dollars in scholarships has been awarded to undergraduate nursing students, and over $3.9 in Promise of Nursing Undergraduate Scholarships. The Foundation is organized as a 501 (C) (3) charitable foundation. Contributions to the FNSNA are tax-deductible.
