Alteco is a consortium of organizations and individuals working with indigenous people groups in the Amazon region of South America to empower them in a holistic way. - Alteco has conducted 8 annual networking conferences (Amazon Consultations) bringing together hundreds of delegates from over 160 organizations that serve tribal groups in the Amazon region. - Alteco has developed an Empowerment Center Model for truly indigenous-focused training of leaders. - In listening to the indigenous voice, Alteco includes indigenous leaders in planning and decision making for all initiatives and projects.
